Aegean Roots® plays really old Greek music: we go back to styles before the bouzouki and rebetika, back to the roots. We concentrate on music from the islands (νησιώτικα, κρητικά) and include songs from the mainland (δημοτικά) and Asia Minor (σμυρνέικα). Our all-acoustic lineup is perfect for intimate social settings, but also scales to larger stages. We can perform by ourselves or can alternate with a bouzouki band for those who want an old school/modern combination. We also have experience working with Greek dance groups.
